
Ms. Sudha Purushothaman, President of Women Business Enterprise Development Association(WOBEDA), Coimbatore inaugurated Affiatus 2019 –“PARIVARTANA” by lighting the lamp on 1st February 2019 at the GIM Campus. In her inaugural address, she highlighted the efforts of the WOBEDA to promote entrepreneurship, by providing training to women entrepreneurs. She mentioned that managers are motivated to initiate business as their career option. She also stated that the Committee members of the association are acting independent in fostering women entrepreneurs and encouraging them to break social barriers. She influenced the GIM students to learn and gain knowledge about their interest towards the particular business as to proceed as entrepreneur.
Affiatus is a two day Intra-collegiate Management Meet of GIM. It is the pride of GIM. Affiatus is being organised every year by the students of Guruvayurappan Institute of Management for the students of GIM. This year Affiatus is named as ‘PARIVARTANA’ which means ‘Change’ or ‘Revolution’. Change is the only thing that never changes. Knowledge is the primary element that induces change. Changes will occur as an outcome of Competition. In order to succeed, people must compete. Competition can bring out the best in everyone. Affiatus is a very good platform to showcase their managerial skills and competence.
Dr. Thomas T. Thomas, Director, GIM, presided over the Inaugural function. M. Ramya M. S, highlighted the events of Affiatus 2019. Ms. Drisya, II MBA, Students Co-ordinator, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Keerthana Krishnan, I MBA, introduced the Chief Guest. Mr. Goutam Nair, I MBA proposed the Vote of Thanks.
The event is being conducted on 1st and 2nd February 2019 at GIM Campus. In the first day the management events being conducted are Business Quiz, Communication game, HR game,Finance game and Best Management team. The second day events being conducted are Logistics game, Business plan, Paper presentation, Marketing game and Best Manager. “The events are expected to succeed in making the students polish their managerial skills and showcase their talents, “said Dr. Thomas.
