Annual day ’17 celebrated at GIM

The 21st Annual Day of Guruvayurappan Institute of Management was celebrated on 4th March 2017 in the GIM Campus. Dr. K. Natesan, Vice President – OSM & HR (Office of Strategic Management & HR), Sakthi Group, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest. Mr. K. M. Sankaranarayanan Namboothiri, Vice Chairman & Secretary GIM welcomed the gathering. Dr. U. C. G. Namboothiri, Chairman, SGECT, presided over the function, Dr. Thomas T. Thomas, Director, GIM presented the Annual Report of the Institute. Prof. K. P. Sankaran Unny, Member, Governing council, GIM; Mr. Rajmohan Nair, representing parents and Mr. Kasinarayanan B, Representing Alumni Association felicitated.

Dr. K. Natesan, Chief Guest in his address stressed on the need for proper preparation by the student to land good jobs. He reminded that Human Resource is the most valuable and at the same time the most difficult resource to manage. Careful and positive handling of the human element is essential for the success of any organization.

Mr. Raghul Ramachandran, 2014-‘16 Batch received the EMERITUS PROF. Dr. M. V. PYLEE ENDOWMENT GOLD MEDAL, (Instituted by Emeritus Prof. Dr. M. V. Pylee, Chairman, Governing Council, GIM for the topper of the MBA Exams (I & II Years ) in GIM).

Mr. Mohammed Rizve, 2014 – ’16 Batch received the Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad Memorial Award for the Outgoing student of the year (Instituted by the SGECT in memory of the late Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattarhiripad.

Ms. Sruthy R., 2014-’16 Batch received the GOWRI AMMA MEMORIAL GOLD MEDAL instituted by Prof. K. P. Sankaran Unny, Member, Governing Council, GIM.

Ms. Seethal S. of 2016-’18 Batch received the ‘K U G Poduval Smaraka Award’ instituted by Prof. P. R. Poduval, Former Director, GIM for the topper in first semester paper ‘Organisational Behaviour’.

Ms. Maneesha P.J, I MBA , 2016-’18 received the Ever Rolling Trophy for being topper in the first Semester Paper ‘Financial Management & Accounting’in the MBA Examinations in December 2016

Merit Scholarships were awarded to students in the first and the second year, based on their performance in the university examinations. Ten students received merit scholarships for their excellent performance in the University Examinations.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Kiran K. Renajan, President, VISION, the Students’ Management Association. Later, Cultural Programmes were presented by the students, which made the evening colourful and entertaining.
