Guruvayurappan Institute of Management organized the Founders’ Day Programme, in memory of the founder Chairman, Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad, Former Chairman, SGECT and Emeritus Prof. Dr. M. V. Pylee, Former Chairman, Governing Council, GIM on 15th March 2023.

This year, the Memorial Lecture was given by Dr. Krishnakumar N, Dean, State Bank Institute of Leadership, Kolkata. He talked about “Sustainable Development – Aligning to Changes, Challenges and Compulsions”. Dr. Krishnakumar N, in his lecture discussed that the whole world is passing through a phase of reconciliation. What we have squandered we have to regain and rebuild. Challenges are many. Countries have to have precise strategies for this.

Dr. Thomas T. Thomas, Director, GIM, Welcomed the gathering. Dr. U. C. G. Namboothiri, Chairman, SGECT presided over the function. Mr.M. K. Krishnan Namboodiripad, Secretary, SGECT, reminiscenced the late Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad. As a Medical Practitioner by profession, Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad was a Philanthropist and also a very versatile person with varied interests. He was the President of Lions Club and the Indian Medical Association, Guruvayur. He was keen in contributing to the well being of the under-privileged of the society. Very much involved in social activities, he had also served as the State Working Committee member of IMA, Kerala.

Prof. (Dr.) K. P. Sankaran Unny, Former Registrar, JNU, New Delhi, reminiscence the late Emeritus Prof. Dr. M. V. Pylee who lead the Institute from the front. He left a great legacy for the Institute to follow, to continue to be the excellent Management Institute it is today. Ms. Anjali Stephanos remembered her Grand Father Dr. M. V. Pylee and shared her experiences as a child with him. Ms. Anu Stephanos remembered her father Dr. M. V. Pylee.
