Founder’s day programme at GIM


Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad Memorial Lecture

Guruvayurappan Institute of Management organized the Founder’s Day Programme, in memory of the founder Chairman, Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad on 15th March 2017 which is his Birthday. In fond memory of this versatile and dynamic professional and educationist, this Lecture is being held every year. Persons of eminence are invited for the Lectures.

This year, the Memorial Lecture was given by Prof. Mithileshwar Jha, Pro – Vice Chancellor, Jain University, Bengaluru. He talked about “Reinventing Management Education and Research in ourContext – Some Challenges”. Prof. Mithileshwar Jha in his lecture discussed the importance of reinventing how Management Education can be made more effective. “The need for faculty and students to realise that their efforts are for gaining quality in knowledge acquisition and engagement and not merely for examination must gain currency”, he said.

Dr. U. C. G. Namboodiri, Chairman, SGECT, presided over the function. Dr. N. Maheswaran Bhattatirpad, Treasurer, SGECT, reminiscenced the late Dr. N. Krishnan Bhattathiripad, his brother as a Medical Practitioner by profession who was a Philanthropist and also a very versatile person with varied interests. He was the President of Lions Club and the Indian Medical Association, Guruvayur. He was keen in contributing to the well being of the under-privileged of the society. Very much involved in social activities, he had also served as the State Working Committee member of IMA, Kerala.

Dr. Thomas T. Thomas, Director, GIM, welcomed the gathering. Dr. N. C. Balakrishnan, Professor, GIM, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
